How many books a week do read on average?

(for pleasure not study)

I read about 3 a week and was wondering if this was excessive!

I work in a library and love books so I can't help myself!

How many books a week do read on average?
I read anywhere between 2-4 books per week. It depends on the size and the complexity of the books that I'm reading. If it's some "chick lit" novel, I can usually finish it in 1-2 nights but "The Fountainhead" took me 2 weeks. I just finished "Mercy" by Jodi Piccoult and it took me 2 days. It was really good too.
Reply:wow... impressive. does magazines count too? :o)
Reply:I finish about one book a week on a college week, but I usually have 2-3 on the go. One in my bag, one by my bed, and one i have to read for class!
Reply:about 4 to 5 a week usally have 2 to 3 on the go at one time
Reply:No three is not excessive. It's great that you get the time to read and enjoy books, work and do YA as well! When I worked in a bookshop I was usually scouring the shelves every third or fourth day which meant two or three a week too. Since I left on maternity leave (four years ago!) and never went back, due to baby and working from home, I think I manage 1 a fortnight. Even less now I've discovered YA.
Reply:I usually ahve two on the go but not every week
Reply:between 7 and 10
Reply:i read 3 or 4 a week, but thats coz i dont watch TV!

I would love to have time to read more!
Reply:I'm a pretty fast reader, so depending upon how much time I have, I usually read 2 books per week and they average around 450 pages per book.
Reply:I usually have at least two going at a time and it's usually two to three complete ones a week.
Reply:I try and read at least one and I really look forward to my holidays as then it is one per day by the pool, on the sun bed with a long cool beer and the odd dip in the pool. I love to read and have always encouraged my daughters to do the same also respect a book i hate to see them misused.
Reply:I think its more than most people read, but I can read that much too. I just finished a great book by Gwen Bristow %26amp; Bruce Manning from the 30's called The Gutenburg Murders. Very Noir. Loved it.
Reply:My goal is one a week, and I frequently get in more than that. It's really not that hard! And yes, I work full-time, as well as have a family, and farm.
Reply:I probably average 1.5 a week.

Reply:I go through about 5-7 books a week. I'm the definition of bibliophile, I love to read and collect books. You're lucky to work in a library, that's what I'd like to do.
Reply:On average, I read about none a year. I hate reading, never have liked it. I'm a slow reader, tried those eye exercisd but they haven't exactly helped (I now wear glasses as a result!)
