How do certain books receive comments on the back?

I'd like to know how those authors have people comment on the backpage of their book. For example, Stephen King commented on Jack Ketchum's "The Girl Next Door" by saying: It doesn't just promise terror, but delivers it".

Can anybody tell me how I can get credits on the back of my books?

If your book was published traditionally, you can ask the publicist or editor of your publisher about getting some credits on your book. If the publisher you are with also has a famous author onboard, the editor may ask him/her to do a review of your book, and hopefully put in a positive word. Your publicist may also contact major newspapers/magazines to provide a positive review/comments that can be put on the cover of your book.

If you are self-published, or published by a small publisher with limited marketing resources, you will have to contact the newspapers and magazines yourself. If they accept your query for a review, you would need to send them a copy of your book. Different reviewers have different guidelines for submission, so be sure to follow them carefully. Some places specialize in book reviews, like Kirkus, Foreword, and Booklist. Once you get a positive review(and have permission to reprint it) you can print a line or two from the review on your cover (ie. "Absolutely riveting..."NY Times).

In general, I would concentrate on getting reviews from newspapers, magazine and online sites—most celebrity authors probably give endorsements only at the request of their editor, or some other insider.
Reply:Most o fthe time what happens is that authors or publishing houses hire renowned writers or scholar t write reviews for ther books! that's why you'll never see a bad review on a back cover! Of course, some reviews might also be written out of mere courtesy... Good luck!
