I am going on a book shopping spree, I love all sorts of books except romance novels. So what are your favorite books that you would suggest?
What are some of the greatest books you ever read?
You must definitely try His Dark Materials trilogy by Philip Pullman. It consists of The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass.
The plot was very good. It's not a typical fantasy experience. It's packed with action, fantasy, and adventure.
Other good reads:
Cirque du Freak by Darren Shan (very creepy)
The Bartimaeus trilogy by Jonathan Stroud
Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis
Maximum Ride series by James Patterson
Pendragon series by D.J. MacHale
The Once and Future King series by T.H. White
A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket
Discworld series by Terry Pratchett
The Bourne Trilogy by Robert Ludlum
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
Life of Pi by Yann Martel
Happy reading!

Reply:Usually I prefer classics, and there is always a need for them (as they are recommended by schools and other sources), so you definitely should sell such too.
Personally, I liked very much The Trial by Kafka, The Stranger by Camus, Devil's Elixir by E. T. A. Hoffmann, and many other were enjoyable from Mark Twain to Sartre and many many more.
As for the contemporary literature, I like Auster, Martin Amis, Banville, Esterházy... etc. There are really a lot.
In my early teens I was attracted by adventure novels with sea setting, and these days I'm tending to pick non-fiction (biographies, history books and other studies).
Reply:erm.... you can try any malorie blackman books apart from the noughts and crosses trilogy - which is strictly romance.
I especially reccomend the stuff of nightmares, hacker and thief, all by malorie blackman!
Sorry it's not many books but i'm more of a romance reader!
Reply:"Rebecca" by Daphne du Maurier
The Thursday Next Series by Jasper Fforde (Begins with "The Eyre Affair")
