What books do you recommend for a college freshman?

I'm about to start school and I love to read but I never really know where to start or what I will like. I've read the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series, Harry Potter series, The Devil Wears Prada, Nicholas Sparks novels, The Lovely Bones, and various other novels and such that I had to read in school or that I just wanted to read. I don't like Gossip Girls kind of books, and I didn't much like the Devil Wears Prada. I like clean fun. :) Any favorites out there? Please share!

Reply:I am reading Diana Gabaldon, but it is a very long book and you have to read the whole series, I am on the 5th, but.... maybe read some books that are on the list of Eng 101, or something like that. I reads some pretty good books in my classes, books that i would read for fun, look on your college website, the classes should show what books are required for what, and then you will be ahead, assuming you are going to college.
Reply:you have been reading books for mostly entertainment. So i have got to have mine too try jackie collins lovers and players
Reply:Try Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. It is a great book...that is 'clean' fun but pure chemistry as well.
Reply:chao` !!!!!!! minh` muo^n lam` wuen vo*i ban !ok
Reply:I was going to answer "Flowers for Algernon" b/c it's just perfect for a person about to start college (and it was assigned reading in jr high so it's not too hard). But since it appears you have similiar taste in books as me (and Oprah) you need to try Wally Lamb ("This Much I Know is True" and "She's Come Undone"). He's really good.
