What are some good books to get me going with my art career?

I'm a senior in college and I'm losing fuel. I need some books that will inspire me or just any book you find could be helpful.

What are some good books to get me going with my art career?
Have you read Neverending Story? Michael Ende
Reply:What Color is your Parachute? It is a book about finding your perfect career. If you do the exercises, you should be inspired that art is what you want to do.

Read books on running a home business. The life of DaVinci. The life of Rembrandt, and Miro, and Kandinsky. You'll want to miss Picasso's life, and Pollock's since they were such rotten, crazy bas(*%26amp;^$ds.

Are you planning on making a living in art? How? Unless you are making money already, it is like becoming a rock star. Or have a rich daddy. You might think of a back-up plan. Good luck to you.
Reply:Go to the book store and any ART HISTORY books are a life saver. They are amazing and really open your eyes to ART.

It also depends on what type of art style you are into...Discover and open your options
Reply:there is a book titled 'the artist's way' that many artists say they have found helpful. it's been around for years, and i've spoken with many established artists who have used it and said they had good results.
Reply:Go to a used bookstore, and just start grabbing up art books by people you don't recognize. And graphic novels, the ones with real life sorta stories. Then get thyself to a local market or art fair - nothing so fancy as an art walk, but something more grass roots. Look at the artists there, and talk to them. You'll be far more inspired by the works and spoken words of people who make their living doing art, then probably any book can.
