How do you remove cigarette smoke smell from books?

I need to remove it from paperback and hardback books.

How do you remove cigarette smoke smell from books?
We had the same problem with some books that were given to us as well. We put them in a big Rubbermaid type container a few at a time and sprinkled baking soda betweens several of the pages and left them all day and over night. We then used the blowdryer to get the baking soda out between the pages. Good luck.
Reply:stop smoking
Reply:I'd burn incense I really like around them. Maybe try placing them in an enclosed space, like a small bathroom and keep the incense burning for a couple of hours. I'm not sure if it will work, but it'll make the bathroom smell great.
Reply:put frabric softners in between the pages!
Reply:I would put them in a closed container with baking soda in it .
Reply:febreeze?
Reply:burn them
Reply:heres a tip, dont smoke maybe?
Reply:I don't think it's possible to remove the odor, but...

Try this:

Put the books in an air-tight plastic container, like Rubber-maid, along with a sachet you like the fragrance of... leave the books in there for at least a week. They will come out smelling like the sachet.

I did this with a few of my good books that smelled like smoke after sitting in a friend's car too long, and it worked.
