What are some good books in the true crime genre?

I'm looking for suggestions on good true crime books to read. I'd be interested in suggestions on any other books related to the criminal justice and legal fields as well.

What are some good books in the true crime genre?
In Cold Blood by Truman Capote

For a less bloody but not less interesting novel, try The Gunpowder Plot by Antonia Fraser about the plot to blow up Parliament (one of the inspirations for the recent movie V for Vendetta)
Reply:Truman Capotes "In Cold Blood" is good, so is "Zodiac" by Robert Graysmith
Reply:LAST DANCE LAST CHANCE by: ANN RULE

THE I-5 KILLER by: ANN RULE

ASSAULT WITH INTENT by: ANN RULE

LUST KILLER also by: ANN RULE

This is just a bit of my collection. Ann Rule writes a lot of true crime books I think you'll enjoy read them. The first one LAST DANCE LAST CHANCE is very touching. ENJOY
Reply:The Devil in the White City is good, psychologically interesting and integrates a lot of present day true crime with a historical serial killer, Holmes, in Chicago while the World's Fair was happening. Erik Larson is the author.
Reply:In Cold Blood
Reply:The Natalee Holloway Story will come out in the near future.
Reply:Anything by the author Ann Rule. I have read all of them. She is my favorite, no one else compares for a well researched book. Check out the website www.paperbackswap.com to swap books for free. The only cost is for mailing at about $1.60 or so per book. You earn credits each time you mail a book to someone so that you can spend the credit getting another book.
Reply:If you like short stories there is a book called "What cops see" that was written by an author who hung out in a cop bar and talked to hundreds of Chicago cops and published their conversations on crime. Hard to find, but a good book.
Reply:my favorite is helter skelter by vincent bugliosi the story of the manson murders
