How much do books cost on average in college?

I got a scholarship to cover tuition dorms and I get $400 a month not including June, July and August. I am using my monthly $400 to cover books. Do you think this will be enough or will it cost me more?

How much do books cost on average in college?
Well through my 6 years of college experience, books can cost varying amounts. I have had cheap books that were around $25 and have had expensive books that were near $350. In one semester I have spent as little as $300 and in one semester I have spent as much as $900 for books. It all depends on your classes that you are having. I was a business and marketing major. My liberal arts classes were cheaper books (art, meteorology, etc.) and my business books were by far the most expensive.
Reply:Depends on the major. I went to college way way back in the day. I was a Enginnering/Physics major. Each of my n\books, used cost over $100.00.
Reply:Depends on what year you are in college, usually first 2 years are not AS much as the rest, but are still expensive.
Reply:really depends on which college and which state your in

my sister started college and it coted her 100 to 250 a book

if your lucky enough sometimes they sell used books

which cost around 80 to 150 dollars

but again it all depends on your course and state with tax and all

but hey when you file your taxes at the end of the year all your books are tax write offs!

and when your done with the book you can sell the book back to the school or hey even on e-bay!
Reply:It depends on your program/major, and how many classes you take at a time. I have seldom paid less than $100 for a book. You can also buy books on-line. I use Amazon.com. You can biy from private sellers, but your order is still protected by Amazon. I have never had a problem with them, and I usually save about $50-$70 per book. Then, if your school has a book buy-back, or lets you advertise used books, you can use sales of old books to finance new ones.
Reply:My books cost over $500 this semester. It was mostly due to the lab science that I am taking, so it really depends on your classes. I have paid as little as $200.
Reply:It is likely to cost you much more. Depending on the classes you take, as much as 2-1/2 times more. :-(
