What are some good current hockey books?

That is fairly new (2005 till now) and maybe inspirational. I read The Boys of Winter and I couldn't finish it cause it was 25 years old!!! What are some new books coming out or something. I like sports books that kind of cover alot of teams in the NHL and they analyze things like Moneyball in MLB.

What are some good current hockey books?
You can learn plenty from older books. Unfortunately, you probably won't realize that until you're older...

Here's a thread from yesterday.

Reply:The Code is a very good book about the understood rules among NHL players, especially enforcers that i really reccomend

The Hockey Chronicle and 100 Years of Hockey give a good year-by-year history of the NHL
Reply:There's a great book about Travis Roy called 11 seconds. I don't know if you know about him but he's the one who dreamed about playing division 1 college hockey, and in his first game he got paralyzed. It's a great read and he's a remarkable person.
Reply:"Searching for Bobby Orr". My sister is reading it right now.
Reply:I suggest reading 'Cold War' by Roy MacSkimming. A great hockey history book about the Canada-Soviet series in 1972. Great detail and drama, and a feeling of really reliving the era, not just a recap of events.
Reply:I strongly agree with sk8rnsuperman (above) ... Eleven Seconds is an unbelievable story of courage. Imagine playing hockey all your life, making it to Divison I college hockey at Boston University and then in your first shift of you collegiate career, you hit the boards head first and will never walk again. With his parents on the ice, as he was laying there on his back before the medics took him off the ice he said to his father, "Dad, I made it." All he wanted to do is play college hockey, and read his story and knowing he went on to graduate from BU, it is just a great inspirational story.
Reply:I loved the Boys of Winter. Great book. One book I really enjoyed reading was the biography on Mark Messier. Great book. 11 seconds was also a great book. Just go to the book store, go to the sports section and look for hockey books. You will find plenty of great ones.
Reply:I did like Boys of Winter, although I thought John Powers' book on that team from 1981 was better.

The new ones will come out in the fall, and you should keep an eye for them. One of interest (http://www.sportspublishingllc.com/book.... will be out in late October or so.

Meanwhile, here's a list of good ones from the recent past:
