What is the easiest way to break into publishing children's books?

I'm starting to write and illustrate my own original children's books, and haven't the foggiest how to break into getting them printed up and published... any pointers?

What is the easiest way to break into publishing children's books?
Self publishing (or subsidy publishing) is not only a good way to break into the competitive world of publishing, but also the best way to have creative control over your work. (Such as providing your own original artwork for you children's book). To request information from Dorrance Publishing go to the link below. They will send you a brochure which explains exactly how subsidy publishing works. If your manuscript is complete, you can submit it for review at no cost or obligation.
Reply:There really isn't an "easy" way to break into publishing a book. However, once you feel your work is as complete as possible, send out query letters to publishers... lots of them. If a publisher is interested in your manuscript, he'll let you know. Don't be discouraged if you get turned down (and you most likely will, as not everyone ever gets accepted right away. Unless of course your already a well known author!)

I must also say that if a publisher likes your work BUT wants you to pay to have it published, stay away from them. A good publisher will only want to publish your manuscript because they feel it is worthy of it. Others will publish anything, as long as you pay them to publish it.

Hope this is of some help to you.

Good luck!
